DHAKA, July 29, 2026 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized smuggled goods worth an estimated Tk 67.40 lakh in separate anti-smuggling drives along the Sylhet border.

According to a BGB press release, the operations were carried out between 11:00 pm on July 28 and 11:00 am today by patrol teams from Banglabazar, Bichanakandi, Panthumai and Sripur Border Outposts (BOPs) under Sylhet Battalion (48 BGB), acting on intelligence information.

The seized items included 28 buffaloes, 13 Indian cattle, 380 kilograms of garlic and 410 kilograms of betel nuts, being smuggled out of Bangladesh.

The total estimated value of the seized goods is Tk 67.40 lakh, the release added.
