KHULNA, July 29, 2026 (BSS) – The Khulna district administration has taken various programmes to observe the 165th birth anniversary of eminent scientist Acharya Prafulla Chandra Roy in Paikgachha.

As part of the observance, floral tributes will be paid at 10am on August 2 at the bust of Acharya Roy at his ancestral home in Raruli under Paikgachha upazila. A discussion meeting will be held afterwards.

At a convenient time, quiz, essay writing and extempore speech competitions will be organised at Bhuban Mohini Secondary School in Raruli, with the participation of students from different schools and colleges of the upazila.

A documentary highlighting the life, works, scientific achievements and social contributions of Acharya Prafulla Chandra Roy will also be screened on the premises of his ancestral home.

In addition, a commemorative publication on his life and achievements will be brought out as part of the celebration.
