DHAKA, July 29, 2026 (BSS) - Police arrested 17 people allegedly involved in various criminal activities during a special drive conducted in Jatrabari Police Station area yesterday.

The arrested individuals are: Khalid Hasan Siam, 22, Md Rifat alias Abir, 25, Kusum Akter, 27, Md Mosharraf Mia alias Mostakim, 20, Samia Akter Jarina, 18, Kajal Akter Akhi, 22, Abu Yusuf, 70, Zahidul Islam Zahid, 53, Abul Hossain, 67, Riaz Sheikh alias Sajib, 24, Rahatul Islam, 19, Md Robin, 42, Md Abdur Rahim, 47, Md Moniruzzaman, Sohan, 19, Md Russell, 26 and Syed Abuzar Hossain.

According to Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) media and public relations division, the detainees include suspects wanted in regular criminal cases as well as individualsallegedly involved in various offences.

The DMP release issued here today said that such special drives will continue to maintain law and order in the area.

Legal proceedings against the arrested individuals are underway, it added.
