JASHORE, July 29, 2026 (BSS) - Jashore police have arrested top Chattogram criminal David Emon along with three of his associates while they were reportedly attempting to flee to India.

Police arrested them around 3.45 am on Wednesday from Jhumjhumpur area of Jashore town. The four suspects were later handed over to Chattogram police around 10.00 am.

The information was confirmed by the Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Operations) of Jashore, Md. Mirazul Islam.

According to him, acting on a requisition from Chattogram police, nine teams comprising personnel from the Jashore Detective Branch (DB) and Kotwali Police Station set up a checkpoint on the Jashore-Dhaka Highway in the Jhumjhumpur area and arrested David Emon and his three associates.

Mirazul Islam said that during preliminary interrogation, the detainees told investigators that they had come to Jashore with the intention of crossing the border into India.
