DHAKA, July 29, 2026 (BSS) - Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested a total of 156 people in separate anti-crime drives conducted by its Tejgaon and Motijheel divisions across crime-prone areas of the capital on Tuesday.
According to DMP, Tejgaon Division arrested 74 people, including accused in regular criminal cases, warrant-listed fugitives and individuals allegedly involved in various offences.
Of them, six were arrested from Tejgaon Police Station, 13 from Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, 28 from Mohammadpur, 13 from Adabor, four from Tejgaon Industrial Area and 10 from Hatirjheel police station areas.
Meanwhile, Motijheel Division arrested 82 people during similar drives.
The arrestees included accused in regular cases, warrant-listed suspects and persons allegedly involved in different criminal activities.
Among them, 11 were arrested from Paltan Police Station, 15 from Shahjahanpur, 17 from Khilgaon, 10 from Rampura, six from Mugda, 11 from Motijheel and 12 from Sabujbagh police station areas.
All the arrested persons were produced before the competent courts after completion of the necessary legal procedures.
