DHAKA, July 29, 2026 (BSS) - Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) yesterday arrested 503 people and filed 30 cases in separate drives across the capital.

According to a DMP press release, the arrestees included 34 from Ramna Division, 35 from Lalbagh, 41 from Wari, 82 from Motijheel, 74 from Tejgaon, 122 from Mirpur, 38 from Gulshan, 69 from Uttara and eight by the Detective Branch (DB).

During the drives, police seized 107 kilograms of cannabis, 25 yaba tablets, gold ornaments weighing over eight Bhori, nine mobile phones and two used motorcycles. Police also rescued one victim.

The arrests were made during raids conducted in different police station areas of the capital as part of the DMP's regular anti-crime operations. 

Legal action against the detainees is underway.
