DHAKA, July 25, 2026 (BSS) – Jatrabari, Bangshal and Turag police of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 29 people involved in various criminal activities during a special operation conducted across the three police station areas of the city on Friday.
According to DMP’s media and public relations division press release issued here today, the arrests were made during raids carried out on July 24 in different areas.
It said they were held under regular criminal cases, outstanding arrest warrants and other criminal activities.
The DMP said Jatrabari Police Station conducted a special drive in several crime-prone areas and arrested 16 people for their alleged involvement in various criminal activities.
The arrestees are - Arman Sarkar Rony, 29, Javed Hossain alias Javed Hossain Molla, 26, Md Swapan, 35, Md Abu Taher, 50, Md Mintu, 23, Md Arif, 28, Md Ripon, 26, Md Sohel Sheikh, 30, Md Nayan, 20, Helal alias Shahar, Md Mizan, 26, Md Bijoy, 21, Md Russell Islam, 30, Md Isman Gani, 35, Md Imon and Md Sohel Mia.
Meanwhile, Bangshal arrested seven people from various prone areas.
The arrestees have been identified as: Md Gias Uddin, 57, Umme Salma, Mostakim Mahmud, Md Babu, 24, Md Imamul Hossain, 21, Md Rakib, 22 and Md Ibrahim, 23.
Besides, the DMP said that Turag Police Station carried out a similar special drive in various crime-prone areas and arrested six people.
The arrestees are Md Tuhin, 28, Jihad Hossain, 21, Md Hridoy Hossain, 26, Sohan Ahmed Rohan, 23, Mahim Islam, 21 and Monirul Islam, 20.
Legal action against the arrestees is under way.
Police said such special drives will continue to maintain law and order and curb criminal activities in the areas.
