Shama mourns 3 Bangladeshis killed in Saudi accident

DHAKA, July 24, 2026 (BSS) - State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the deaths of three 
members of a Bangladeshi family in a road accident in Saudi Arabia.

The deceased were Tania Tahmina Rina, 45, her son Tasbik, 20, and daughter Zara, 15, all from Faridpur, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In a condolence message, the state minister prayed for eternal peace of the departed souls and conveyed her deepest sympathies to the bereaved family.

She also prayed to Almighty Allah to grant the family members patience and strength to bear the irreparable loss.

The three Bangladeshis were killed in a fatal road accident on July 23 while travelling from Riyadh to the holy city of Makkah to perform Umrah.

Rina was the daughter of Nazimuddin Mollah, former chairman of Atghar Union Parishad under Saltha upazila in Faridpur.

Rina's husband Shafiqul Islam and their elder son Nabil were also injured in the accident.

Shama wished the two injured Bangladeshis a speedy recovery.
