BAGERHAT, July 24, 2026 (BSS)- A seminar on skills development and safe migration of immigrant workers was held here today.
The seminar has been arranged aimed at encouraging youths of Mongla and Rampal upazilas to take necessary training on different trades to make them suitable for job abroad.
State Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Dr. Sheikh Faridul Islam attended as chief guest in the seminar held at Sundarbans Mohila College auditorium in Rampal.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer Tamanna Ferdousi was in the chair while additional director general of the Bureau of Manpower Employment and Training Ashraf Hossain was present as special guest.
Principal of Government Chitalmari Technical College, Director of Bagerhat Marine Academy and manpower department officials also spoke in the seminar.
State Minister Faridul Islam said the government is working to build a skilled workforce. The Prime Minister is working to solve the country's unemployment problem.
The country will prosper if the people of the country can be trained and employed abroad, he said urging the youths to earn occupational skill and learn language of the respective country for overseas job.
Speakers urged the youths not to be allured by the brokers, rather go abroad after making them skilled in various trades through taking necessary training.
