DHAKA, July 22, 2026 (BSS)- BNP Standing Committee Member and former Minister Barrister Rafiqul Islam Mia has been admitted to Evercare Hospital in the capital due to illness.

BNP Media Cell Member Shayrul Kabir Khan confirmed the matter to BSS. 

He said Rafiqul Islam Mia was taken to Evercare Hospital yesterday (Tuesday) as he suddenly was feeling unwell. 

“His physical condition doesn’t have any significant improvement at present. Doctors kept him under close observation,” he said. 

Barrister Rafiqul Islam Mia has been bedridden since 2018 due to illness caused by various age-related complications.

The family of Barrister Rafiqul Islam Mia has sought prayers from the people of the country for his recovery.
