DHAKA, July 19, 2026 (BSS) — Police have arrested 124 people in separate operations across several police stations under  Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) as part of  ongoing drive against crime, authorities said.

The arrests were made during special raids on Saturday in Tejgaon Division, Hazaribagh, Uttara West, Turag, Bangshal and Jatrabari, targeting suspects linked to regular and warrant cases as well as other criminal offences.

Tejgaon Division recorded the highest number of arrests with 58, followed by Hazaribagh with 19, Uttara West, Turag and Bangshal with altogether  33, and Jatrabari with 14.

Police said the operations were carried out in crime-prone areas to maintain law and order. 

All those arrested have been produced before the courts or are undergoing legal proceedings, according to the respective police stations.
