RAJBARI, July 19, 2026 (BSS)- State Minister for Cultural Affairs and Rajbari-1 lawmaker Ali Newaz Mahmood Khyom today said laid emphasis on improving healthcare services in the district, saying initiatives will be taken to strengthen medical facilities at the union level in Rajabari. 

“We will strengthen healthcare services at the union level across Rajbari district. Necessary steps will also be taken to ensure advance preparedness against dengue and to fill up the vacant posts of the physicians in Rajbari Sadar Hospital as quickly as possible,” he said.

The state minister made the remarks while addressing a meeting of the Rajbari District Development Coordination Committee at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner's Office here this morning with Deputy Commissioner Afroza Parvin in the chair.

The meeting discussed district infrastructure development, healthcare services, education, waste management, dengue prevention and overall development of the char areas.

Khyom stressed the need for effective measures to ensure overall development of the district's two char areas, particularly improving primary education. He urged the relevant authorities to take the necessary steps in this regard.
He also called for coordinated efforts to address the district's existing problems, saying roads in the district town would be improved and widened, electric decorative lighting would be installed on road dividers, damaged roads will be repaired with installing tiles in the municipal area on priority basis.

Rajbari Zila Parishad Administrator Abdus Salam, Superintendent of Police Mohammad Manjur Morshed, Civil Surgeon Dr SM Masud, Deputy Director of Rajbari Sadar Hospital Dr Mohammad Hannan Sheikh and officials of different government departments and other concerned persons were present at the meeting.
