DHAKA, July 19, 2026 (BSS) - Police today arrested 66 people allegedly involved in various crimes during separate special drives conducted in Hazaribagh, Bangshal, Jatrabari, Uttara West, Turag Police Stations of the capital.

According to a DMP media and public relations division, police conducted special drives in different crime-prone areas under DMP's jurisdiction on Saturday and arrested 66 people for their alleged involvement in criminal activities.

It said Hazaribagh police carried out a special operation and arrested 19, while Bangshal police nabbed seven people during similar drives.

In addition, Jatrabari police carried out raids at different areas and arrested 14 people while Uttara West Police detained 15 and Turag police conducted a similar drive in different crime-prone areas and arrested 11 people, the DMP said.

Police said those arrested include accused in regular and warrant cases as well as individuals allegedly involved in various criminal offences.

Legal proceedings against the arrestees are underway, the DMP added.

Besides, Hazaribagh police produced the arrestees before the court after completing legal formalities against them.
