DHAKA, July 19, 2026 (BSS) - Former Jatiyatabadi Juba Dal Vice President Jakir Hossain Nannu died of heart failure early today at Gulshan United Hospital here. He was 58.

BNP Media Cell confirmed the matter to BSS.  

Nannu is survived by his wife, one son, two daughters and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.
 
The body of the deceased was taken to Barishal this morning, said BNP media cell.

BNP Secretary General and LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir expressed deep shock and sorrow at the sudden demise of Jakir Hossain Nannu.

In a message of condolence, he extended sympathy to the bereaved family members and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.

Besides, Jubo Dal President Abdul Monayem Munna and General Secretary Mohammad Nurul Islam Nayan have expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Nannu.

In a condolence message, they termed Nannu as a courageous and dedicated worker and said that his loss is an irreparable loss for the party.
