CHATTOGRAM, July 18, 2026 (BSS) - State Minister for Land and Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) Affairs Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin today said the government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, is committed to building a dignified, discrimination-free Bangladesh by ensuring equal rights for all and reducing poverty and inequality.
Speaking as the chief guest at a rice distribution programme for flood victims in Chattogram-5, he said the government places the people above all else and considers them the true owners of the country.
"By working together, we will establish Bangladesh as a dignified state on the global stage," he said at the event, organised by the Chattogram Development Authority (CDA) in Hathazari Upazila.
Calling on government officials to remain dedicated to public service, the State Minister said every moment should be devoted to development and the welfare of the people.
He expressed the government's determination to bring visible and meaningful changes to the country over the next five years.
Mir Helal also stressed the importance of protecting Chattogram's ecological balance by ensuring the uninterrupted flow of water through rivers, streams, canals and wetlands.
The programme was chaired by Hathazari Upazila Executive Officer Muhammad Abdullah Al Mumin.
Earlier in the day, the State Minister distributed relief among flood-affected families at the Gumarmardan Union Parishad premises in Hathazari.
