Maritime ports asked to keep local cautionary signal No 3

DHAKA, July 18, 2026 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today asked the four maritime ports-- Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and
Payra-- to keep local cautionary signal No. 3 (re-hoisted) as squally weather is likely to affect the ports, the North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of
Bangladesh.

A steep pressure gradient prevails over the northwest Bay of Bengal, which may cause gusty winds over the seaports, the North Bay of Bengal and the
adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh, according to a weather warning issued by the BMD here.

All fishing boats and trawlers over the North Bay have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice.
