DHAKA, July 17, 2026 (BSS) - The Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and Gulshan Society have jointly launched a month-long awareness campaign today to prevent dengue outbreak.
Activities to curb the outbreak were formally inaugurated this afternoon at Justice Shahabuddin Ahmed Park in Gulshan of the city.
Organizers said they will conduct awareness campaigns at every educational institution, mosque, neighborhood and slum area throughout the period. Additionally, they will distribute banners, posters and leaflets.
Gulshan Society President Barrister Omar Sadat presided over the event while Secretary General Mojibur Rahman Mridha, Vice President Abdul Majed, along with DNCC officials and employees and people from all walks of life in the locality took part.
Addressing the inaugural function, Barrister Omar attributed the 2,700 dengue-related deaths in the last three years to unawareness and irresponsibility.
He urged citizens to be aware while the authorities to play responsible role to curb the dengue outbreak.
