DHAKA, July 11, 2026 (BSS) - The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed 2,836 cases against vehicles, owners and drivers for violating traffic rules as part of its ongoing drive to improve traffic discipline in the capital.
The information was disclosed in a press release issued by the DMP's Media and Public Relations Division today.
According to the release, the Traffic Division carried out enforcement drives over the past day against traffic rule violators across the city.
During the drive conducted on July 9 and 10, traffic police dumped 834 motor vehicles and towed 317 others for various traffic offences.
The release said several teams of the DMP Traffic Division have been working across the capital to ensure smooth traffic movement and facilitate easier commuting for city residents.
It added that the drive against traffic rule violators will continue to maintain discipline on Dhaka's roads.
Of the total cases, the Wari Traffic Division filed the highest number with 857, followed by Mirpur with 527, Uttara 299, Tejgaon 274, Motijheel 256, Lalbagh 239, Gulshan 237 and Ramna 147.
