DHAKA, July 10, 2026 (BSS) - Police arrested a total of 24 people in separate anti-crime operations carried out by the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar and Mugda Police stations on Thursday.
According to a Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) press release issued here today, they were held in connection with regular criminal cases, outstanding arrest warrants and other criminal activities.
It said that Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police arrested seven people involved in criminal activities. They are Md Hakim Babu (32), Md Alauddin (30), Muhammad Ali (21), Ahbab Nadid Zenan (19), Md Raihan (19), Md Zahid (18) and Md Mamun (20).
Apart from this, the Mugda police arrested 17 suspected criminals involved in various crimes. The arrested are Md Maruf Hossain Ramzan (39), Parul Begum (35), Md Saiful Islam (25), Bishu alias Shah Alam (45), Md Rafiqul Islam (26), Russell (23), Md Yakub Khan (23), Rafi (20), Sumaiya Akhter (19), Arifin Islam Roni (23), Md Sabuj (26), Md Shafi (38), Noor Mohammad (26), Ram Prasad Das (40), Nurunnabi (25), Md Halim (45) and Md Hridoy (40).
Police said such special drives will continue to maintain law and order and curb criminal activities in the area.
The arrested individuals have been produced before the relevant court following the completion of legal formalities.
