DHAKA, July 10, 2026 (BSS) - The World Population Day will be observed in the country tomorrow (July 11) like elsewhere across the world.
The World Population Day was celebrated for the first time in 90 countries on July 11, 1990.
Bangladesh is set to celebrate the day this year through various events.
This year's there of the World Population Day is "Realizing the hopes and aspirations of young people - today and for the future."
President Mohammed Shahabuddin and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman issued separate messages on the occasion.
A discussion is going to be organised at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in city on Sunday marking the World Population Day.
President Shahabuddin is expected to be present as the chief guest at the meeting. Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md Sakhawat Husain will also be present.
Bangladesh Television, Bangladesh Betar and private TV channels will broadcast special programs and national dailies will publish special supplements on the World Population Day.
