DHAKA, July 7, 2026 (BSS) - The Dhaka Bar Association today celebrated Rabindra-Nazrul Birth
Anniversary Festival 2026 with due respect and enthusiasm.
Cultural Affairs Minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury attended the event as the chief guest.
Addressing the function, the minister marked Rabindranath Tagore and Kazi Nazrul Islam as two eternal
beacons of Bengali consciousness, literature and culture.
He said Rabindranath enriched the depth of human emotions and intellect and Nazrul taught the nation
to raise its voice against injustice and sing the songs of equality.
He emphasized the need to spread the ideals and literary philosophy of these two poets among the
younger generation.
The Minister praised the Dhaka Bar's initiative, noting its role in upholding a healthy cultural
tradition and fostering an intellectually driven society.
Advocate Mohammad Anwar Zahid Bhuiyan, President of the Dhaka Bar Association, presided over the
event.
Among others present were Advocate Mohammad Abul Kalam Khan, General Secretary of the Dhaka Bar
Association, members of the executive committee, junior lawyers, and invited guests.
A cultural program featuring performances of Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrul Geeti and poetry recitations
followed the discussion.
