DHAKA, July 7, 2026 (BSS) - State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salauddin Tuku today said the government is taking effective measures to
improve indigenous cattle breeds and strengthen farm management systems.
"The government is taking effective steps to develop indigenous cattle breeds and strengthening farm management system of the country," he said.
He made the remarks while visiting the Central Cattle Breeding and Dairy Farm in Savar here.
Upon visiting, the minister marked positive developments of the farm.
He said, "Farm's own grass production is being used as cattle feed which he described as a positive development."
He emphasized that enhanced management practices are being prioritized to increase productivity and efficiency to ensure expected outcomes.
During the visit, Tuku inspected the calf section, dairy farm, Pabna cattle unit, Mirkadim unit, Holstein-Friesian unit, artificial insemination (AI)
laboratory, breeding bull unit, and the 100 percent American Friesian bull.
He also reviewed initiatives for the development of indigenous cattle breeds, fodder production, farm management and overall infrastructure activities and
provided necessary guidance to officials concerned.
Director General of the Department of Livestock Services Md. Shahjahan Khan, Director of the Central Cattle Breeding and Dairy Farm Md. Shahidul Islam and senior officials and employees of the farm were present during the visit.
