MANIKGANJ, July 7, 2026 (BSS) - Ferry services on the Paturia-Daulatdia route resumed after a 30-minute suspension caused by a nor'wester over the Padma River today.
Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) Paturia Ghat Deputy General Manager Abdus Salam said ferry operations were suspended at 4:30 pm as strong winds swept across the river, prompting authorities to halt services to ensure the safety of passengers and vehicles.
The suspension lasted about half an hour, after which ferry operations resumed and services returned to normal, he added.
