DHAKA, July 7, 2026 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) today slashed the prices of jet fuel (Jet A-1) for domestic and international airlines by Tk 19.22 and $0.1252 per litre.
Now the price of Jet A-1 fuel has come down to Tk 130.99 from Tk 150.21 per litre for domestic carriers. For international carriers, the price has been fixed at $0.8556 from US$0.9808 per litre.
The new rates will be effective from 12 midnight tonight, said BERC Secretary Md Nazrul Islam Sarkar.
The BERC said the new prices have been determined by considering the average price of the Platts Rate from June 5 to July 4, 2026.
In view of the proposal of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) and Padma Oil Company Limited (POCL), the regulatory authority held a public hearing today as per sections 34 (4) and 34 (6) of the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission Act, 2003.
In the public hearing, the BERC has determined the new prices for the month of July by considering the detailed price of the Platts Rate of Jet A-1 fuel from June 5 to July 4, as well as the exchange rate of the US dollar in the settlement of the Letter of Credit (LC) of BPC, it said.
