DHAKA, July 7, 2026 (BSS) - The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 406 people during its regular anti-crime operations across the capital over the past 24 hours, while 50 cases were filed during the same period.
According to a DMP statement, the arrestees included 35 from Ramna Division, 36 from Lalbagh Division, 31 from Wari Division, 45 from Motijheel Division, 59 from Tejgaon Division, 120 from Mirpur Division, 32 from Gulshan Division, 43 from Uttara Division, and five by the Detective Branch (DB).
During the operations, police recovered 1.215 kg of cannabis, 2,290 yaba tablets, 15 pieces of used aluminium door and window frame sections of various sizes, one knife, one anti-cutter, five mobile phones, one motorcycle, and Tk 8,350 in cash from the possession of the arrested individuals.
The coordinated raids were conducted at different police station areas across the capital as part of DMP's ongoing campaign against crime, resulting in the recovery of narcotics, locally made weapons and other suspected stolen items.
Legal proceedings against the arrested persons are underway, the statement added.
