DHAKA, July 6, 2026 (BSS) - The government has cancelled its earlier directive that required all government primary school libraries across the country to preserve a set of three books.

The Ministry of Primary and Mass Education issued a notification in this regard today.

The government has cancelled its June 3 directive that instructed government primary schools to preserve one set each of the books titled "President Zia: Rajnoitik Jiboni", "Begum Khaleda Zia: Jibon O Songram", and "Shobar Agey Bangladesh", said the notification.

The ministry has directed the director general of the Directorate of Primary Education to take immediate necessary steps to implement the decision.
