DHAKA, July 6, 2026 (BSS) - Police from Mirpur Model Police Station of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 40 individuals during a special operation conducted in different crime-prone areas under the station's jurisdiction. 

According to Mirpur Model Police Station, the special drive was carried out on Monday, targeting various criminal activities. 

The operation resulted in the arrest of 40 people allegedly involved in different offences, including regular criminal cases. 

The arrestees are: Saikat Das (26), Mostafizur Rahman (26), Md. Din (22), Bipul Das (30), Zainul Haque Jony (26), Md. Samad Majumder (25), Nibir (20), 
Md. Jihad (23), Md. Abir (29), Jeet (19), Md. Masud Rana (24), Pranta Kumar Shil (19), Sulaiman Rahman Sani (22), Jihad (19), Md. Al Imran Hossain (26), 
Md. Sani (25), Md. Nirab Khan (25), Abdul Ahad (27), Saiful Islam Manik (33), Saidul Islam (25), Md. Kanchan (32), Md. Hashem (38), Mehedi Hasan (28), Md. 
Alauddin (33), Md. Omar Faruk (34), Md. Shakil (32), Md. Sohag Hossain (34), Md. Shahid (38), Md. Shamim (18), Alamin alias Bhola (25), F. M. Sajjad 
Hossain alias Sagar (38), Amit (29), Leon (27), Lawrence (27), Md. Sayeed Salbi (26), Md. Mirza Abir (28), Md. Akib Hossain (21), Wadud Islam Safa (21), Mursalin (19), and Md. Masud Rana (30). 

Police said the detainees include accused persons wanted in regular cases as well as individuals allegedly involved in various criminal activities. 

All of the arrested individuals have been produced before the competent court after the completion of the necessary legal procedures.
