DHAKA, July 6, 2026 (BSS) - Members of the newly-elected executive committee of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) today paid a courtesy call on Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Md Asaduzzaman at the secretariat here.
During the meeting, the SCBA leaders highlighted the need for constructing a modern building to ensure adequate seating facilities for lawyers practicing at the Supreme Court, an official release said today.
They said the existing infrastructure was insufficient to meet the needs of the growing number of lawyers. Stressing the importance of providing a suitable working environment for legal practitioners, they underscored the urgency of constructing a new building.
Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Md Asaduzzaman agreed that the lawyers' demands were justified and said the development of judicial infrastructure and ensuring necessary facilities for lawyers were among the government's priorities.
The minister also assured the SCBA leaders of the government's support for the construction of a new building for lawyers practicing at the Supreme Court.
Led by SCBA President A.M Mahbub Uddin Khokon, MP, the delegation also included Secretary Mohammad Ali, Senior Vice-President Alhaj Md Magfur Rahman Shaikh, Vice-President Md Shahjahan, Treasurer Md Ziaur Rahman, Senior Assistant Secretary Mohammad Samsul Islam (Mukul), Assistant Secretary Maksud Ullah, and Executive Members H.M Shanjid Siddique, A.K.M Azad Hossain, Wahida Afroz Chowdhury, Md Kabir Hossain, Md Zia Uddin Mia, Md Tipu Sultan and Azim Uddin Patwary.
