MYMENSINGH, July 05, 2026 (BSS)- State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Yasser Khan Choudhury has said the government is working continuously to improve the quality of education and ensure a modern learning environment across the country including in Nandail upazila.
“The education sector is getting the highest priority in the development of Nandail,” he told a views-exchange meeting with teachers at Government Shahid Smriti Adarsha College in the upazila here.
The state minister said their goal is to make Nandail recognized across the world. To achieve this, he urged everyone to embrace the Prime Minister's policy "Bangladesh First."
Although the current government has not yet completed five months in office, the Education Engineering Department, through the efforts of the State Minister, has already allocated Taka 90 lakh for the repair and renovation of six educational institutions in Nandail.
According to two separate orders issued by the Education Engineering Department, the allocation has been approved under the 2025–26 fiscal year's operational budget.
The funds will support repair and renovation work at four institutions under the Secondary and Higher Education Division and two institutions under the Technical and Madrasa Education Division.
Under the Secondary and Higher Education Division, Taka 15 lakh has been allocated to each of Kharua High School, Deuldangra Bhuiyabari Academy, Mushuli College and Singdoi Adarsha High School.
In addition, under the Technical and Madrasah Education Division, Taka 15 lakh has been allocated to each of Mahabai Women's Dakhil Madrasah and Rajapur Girls' Dakhil Madrasah.
The approved funds will be used to carry out the necessary repair and renovation work at the respective institutions.
Sharing the information today, the state minister said improving the infrastructure of educational institutions is fundamental to enhancing the quality of education.
He said the government's goal is to ensure a modern, safe, and education-friendly environment in every educational institution. He also thanked the prime minister and the education minister for approving the allocations.
The meeting, chaired by college principal Enamul Hasan.
The state minister said steps would soon be taken to introduce honours courses, construct a new academic building, and establish a modern computer laboratory in the college.
He also assured the construction of a boundary wall for the safety of students and teachers, a guide wall along the riverbank, renovation of the Shaheed Minar and the college mosque, a separate rest room for female teachers, and the construction of a modern auditorium.
Among those who spoke at the event were Associate Professor Julfikar Touhid of the Bangla Department, Head of the Accounting Department Omar Faruk, and Economics Lecturer Marzia Hafsa.
The program was moderated by ICT Lecturer Rezaul Karim Milon. Teachers, officers, and staff of the college were also present.
