DHAKA, July 5, 2026 (BSS) - The government has transferred six deputy inspectors general (DIGs) of police to different units of Bangladesh police.

The home affairs ministry issued a gazette notification signed by Deputy Secretary Tousif Ahmed in this regard here today.

According to the notification, DIG of Special Branch (SB) Md Iqbal Hossain has been transferred to Dhaka as range DIG, while Commissioner of Barishal Metropolitan Police (BMP) Md Ashiq Said to Rajshahi as range DIG.

It said DIG of Police Headquarters Abu Raihan Muhammad Saleh has been posted to BMP as commissioner, DIG of Barishal range Md Mostafizur Rahman to Khulna as range DIG, DIG of Khulna range Md Rezaul Haque to Industrial police as DIG and DIG of Rajshahi range Mohammad Shahjahan to Armed Police Battalion (APBn), Dhaka as DIG.

The notification said that the order was issued on public interest, which will be come into effect immediately.
