DHAKA, July 5, 2026 (BSS) - Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has conducted a special mobile court and eviction drive to enhance the beauty of areas under its jurisdiction, recover public spaces from illegal occupation and ensure unhindered movement of people.
As part of this, today the drive was carried out in the Sabji Bagan area under Ward No. 19 of the corporation, led by DSCC Estate Officer and Executive Magistrate Hasiba Khan, said a press release here today.
During the drive, all kinds of illegal makeshift shops and structures built by occupying roads and footpaths in the Sabji Bagan area were evicted, leaving the area completely cleared and cleaned.
Besides, eight nursery owners were fined a total of Taka 8,000 through eight separate cases for illegally occupying government land and setting up nurseries.
At the same time, they were instructed strictly to remove all trees from the nurseries concerned by 6 pm today.
According to DSCC, such eviction drives and mobile courts against illegal occupation will continue regularly to protect the city's environment and keep public thoroughfares free for pedestrians.
