DHAKA, July 5, 2026 (BSS) – A public notice has been issued urging the enlistment of all unlisted Waqf properties across Bangladesh with the Office of the Waqf Administrator on an urgent basis to ensure their proper management and administration and protect them from illegal occupation.
Under Section 47 of the Waqf Ordinance, 1962, it is mandatory to enlist all Waqf properties in Bangladesh—including mosques, madrasas, Eidgahs, graveyards, Imambaras, Khanqahs and Mazar Sharifs—with the Office of the Bangladesh Waqf Administrator, according to a PID handout issued today.
However, many Waqf estates across the country remain unlisted.
The notice urged all concerned to complete the enlistment of unlisted Waqf properties on an urgent basis to ensure their proper management and administration and prevent them from being encroached upon.
Application forms for enlistment, the list of required documents and the relevant guidelines are available free of charge on the Bangladesh Waqf Administration website, at the offices of all Waqf inspectors and at the offices of all deputy commissioners.
