DMP files 858 cases for traffic rule violations

DHAKA, July 5, 2026 (BSS) - The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed a total of 858 cases against vehicles for violating traffic laws during a drive conducted across different parts of the capital.

The cases were filed during the operations carried out on Saturday, according to a press release issued today.

According to the DMP Traffic Division, the highest number of cases-234-was recorded in the Wari Traffic Division. The Uttara Traffic Division filed 158 cases, followed by Mirpur with 116, Motijheel with 92, Lalbagh with 89, Tejgaon with 75, Gulshan with 59 and Ramna with 35.

During the operation, authorities also impounded 418 vehicles and towed away another 398.

Police said the DMP Traffic Division will continue its enforcement drives to maintain traffic discipline across the Dhaka metropolitan area.
