Khulna City College played significant role to  higher education:  KCC Administrator

KHULNA, July 4, 2026 (BSS) – Khulna City Corporation (KCC) administrator Nazrul Islam Manju said the Government M M City College has made outstanding contributions to higher education and women's education since its establishment.

He said the institution had played a significant role in every major democratic movement and in developing the country's human resources.

He made the remarks on Friday in a gathering of the Government M M City College alumni association reunion in the city.

Manju also expressed optimism that the alumni association would continue to play a leading role in promoting knowledge, human values and national development in the years ahead.

The alumni association of Government Majid Memorial (MM) City College, Khulna, organised a colourful day-long Eid Reunion-2026, bringing together former and current students, teachers and distinguished guests in a festive atmosphere.

The formal programme began at Tiger Garden Hotel in the city with the release of festoons and balloons by Khulna City Corporation Administrator Nazrul Islam Manju.

Speaking on the occasion, Chairman of the Khulna Development Authority and President of Khulna City BNP Advocate Shafiqul Alam Mona, also a distinguished former student of the college, described Government MM City College as "a beacon of excellence in nurturing talent and leadership" in Khulna and the country's south-western region.
He said the institution's alumni are serving with distinction at home and abroad, expressing hope that stronger ties between former and current students would further contribute to the college's overall development and academic excellence.

A colourful procession was later brought out from the venue, parading along KDA Avenue and circling the Zia Hall area before returning to the hotel auditorium.

The guests subsequently cut a cake to mark the reunion.

A reminiscence and discussion session, chaired by organising committee convener M A Salam, was held at around 11.30 am.

Among others, former Khulna City BNP Organising Secretary Fakrul Alam, former VP of the College Asaduzzaman Murad,BNP leaders Nazmul Huda Sagar, Sheikh Monirul Hasan, Abdul Aziz, Robiul Islam Robi, Rowshan Jaman Mithu, Mofizur Rahman Mukta, Masudur Rahman, Mizanur Rahman Milton, Habibur Rahman, Md Abdur Rahim, Tashaduzzaman, Banani Sultana Jhumu, Irna Akter, Murad Hossain, Rakib Farazi, Jamil Hossain, Soham and Sakib, along with former and current students and teachers, attended the reunion.
