DHAKA, July 3, 2026 (BSS) - Jatrabari Police arrested 27 people involved in 
various criminal activities during a special operation conducted across the 
Jatrabari area of the capital on Thursday. 

According to a police press release, five of the arrested were held in 
connection with regular criminal cases, four were nabbed for pending cases, 
eight were apprehended on outstanding arrest warrants, and 10 were detained 
under the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Ordinance. 

The arrested are Syed Alam (33), Mohammad Ismail (31), Swapan, Billal alias 
Chila Billal, Md Rabbi, Md Mitul (28), Ehsan Ullah (28), Ismail Ahmed (36), 
Md Nasir Uddin (45), Beauty Begum, Iti Akhter, Jamal Hossain, Md Alauddin, 
Shamim, Nur Jahan Akhter Mim, Moushumi Akhter Shikha (49), Md Akram Hossain 
(33), Md Ramzan (20), Md Tanvir (18), Md Al Amin (20), Md Ariful Islam (23), 
Md Zahid Islam (23), Md Sajjad (26), Md Suman Hawlader (24), Sohrab (45), 
Sohanur Rahman (20) and Abdullah Huzaifa (22).

Police said such special drives will continue to maintain the country's law 
and order and curb criminal activities in the area.
 
The arrested individuals have been produced before the relevant court 
following the completion of legal formalities.
