DHAKA, July 1, 2026 (BSS) - The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan
Police (DMP) has filed 2,357 cases against motor vehicles, owners and its
drivers for violating traffic rules in a single day across the capital.
A media release of the DMP today said that they filed those cases and
realized the money on Tuesday (June 30) through their regular drives
against the traffic rule breakers.
Of the cases, Ramna division filed 104, Lalbagh division registered 235,
Motijheel traffic division filed 468, Wari division registered 167, Tejgaon
division filed 236, Mirpur division filed 474, Uttara division registered 423
and Gulshan division filed 250 against motor vehicles as well as three
wheelers and motorcycles, it said.
A total of 609 motor vehicles were dumped and 329 were towed due to
poor driving practices, DMP's media and public relations division disclosed
the information through a press release here today.
"The drives will continue to ensure discipline on the city streets," the
release said, adding that the DMP has been working to bring the traffic
system under smooth in the capital for giving city dwellers easy movement.
