DMP files 2,294 cases for traffic rule violations

DHAKA, June 30, 2026 (BSS) – The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed 2,294 cases against motor vehicles, owners and its drivers for violating traffic rules across the capital during the last 24 hours.

According to a Media and Public Relations Division of DMP, the DMP traffic division conducted the campaign against traffic breakers till 6.00 pm on Monday. 

It said that the DMP traffic police dumped 510 motor vehicles and towed 343 vehicles during the campaign against traffic rule violations on June 29.

During the drives, DMP filed 107 cases under Ramna zone, 224 cases under Lalbagh zone, 422 cases under Motijheel zone and 169 cases under Wari zone, 270 cases under Tejgaon zone, 523 cases under Mirpur zone, 375 cases under Uttara zone and 204 cases under Gulshan zone.

The DMP’s Traffic Division has vowed to continue drives to maintain discipline on Dhaka’s streets.
