RAJSHAHI, June 30, 2026 (BSS)- Cheques from the Prime Minister's Relief and Welfare Fund worth Taka 25,000 each have been distributed among 40 beneficiaries in the district.

The district administration distributed the cheques at a function held in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner's office on Monday afternoon, with Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kazi Shahidul Islam in the chair. 

The donation cheques were distributed among helpless and distressed people as per a list provided by Land Minister and Rajshahi-2 lawmaker Md Mizanur Rahman Minu.  

Additional Deputy Commissioner Sabur Ali and Rajshahi District Relief and Rehabilitation Officer Abdul Hai Sarkar were present as special guests at the cheque distribution program. 

Speaking at the event, the DC said assistance from the Prime Minister's Relief and Welfare Fund is an important initiative for standing beside helpless, poor and crisis-stricken people.

He said the government is implementing various social safety net programmes to improve the living standards of helpless people with the goal of building a humane state.

He urged the beneficiaries to use the financial assistance properly to meet their essential needs.

Officials of the district administration, representatives of the relevant departments and the beneficiaries were present at the programme.
