DHAKA, June 29, 2026 (BSS) – Different units of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 87 people in special drives conducted across the capital over the past 24 hours on various criminal charges.

During the daylong drives conducted on June 28, police arrested one listed extortionist, a DMP release said here today.

They also arrested 37 people for their alleged involvement in terrorism, robbery, mugging and robbery-related offences and 49 others on charges of drug trafficking.

The release further said that such drives will continue to maintain public safety and ensure normal law and order across the capital.
