DHAKA, June 28, 2026 (BSS) - Police have arrested 18 suspected criminals during special raids in the capital's Jatrabari area. 

Deputy Police Commissioner (Media and Public Relations Division) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) NM Nasiruddin confirmed the arrests in a press release today. 

According to the release, the arrested are Md Jewel Mia (33), Kerama Chakma (44), Leumong Chakma (44), Leraiyya Chakma (24), Chamia Chakma (29), S Mashiur Rahman (60), Md Jewel Mia (30), Manjur Morshed Ripon Chowdhury (35), Ibrahim Ruddha (23), Masum Ahmed (25), Md Nuruzzaman Mia (19), Md Imam (23), Md A Razzak (31), Md Hridoy (20), Md Asif (20), Md Robin Howlader (21), Russell Mia (20) and Swadhin (20).

The release said the suspects were arrested during special raids conducted in various crime-prone areas on Saturday and were later produced before the court.

It said the arrested include accused in regular cases, warrant accused and individuals allegedly involved in various criminal activities.
