DHAKA, June 27, 2026 (BSS) - The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has organized a “bi-monthly health camp” at four important locations in the capital to ensure basic healthcare services for the transport workers.
The special healthcare initiative was carried out today at four key locations in the capital under the guidance and direct supervision of DMP Additional Police Commissioner (Traffic) Md. Anisur Rahman.
As part of the initiative of the DMP Traffic Division, health camps were set up at Bata Signal Traffic Police Box in Elephant Road, Mohakhali Terminal Traffic Police Box, Matiur Rahman Park and Demra Staff Quarter area in cooperation with various hospitals and clinics, with the presence of specialist doctors.
At the camps, transport workers received primary health check-ups, necessary medical services and health-related advice.
Various surveys have shown that most transport drivers and helpers suffer from high blood pressure, diabetes, lung-related complications and various muscular problems.
Although these diseases can be controlled or treated through timely medical care, they are often unable to receive regular treatment due to workload and financial constraints.
The DMP initiative is really a humanitarian effort to bring healthcare services closer to transport workers.
