NARSINGDI, June 26, 2026 (BSS) - BNP Standing Committee member Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan, MP today said the administration should remain free from partisan politics and work for the welfare of the people.
He made the remarks while addressing as the chief guest a programme organised by the Palash Upazila administration at the Modern Multipurpose Auditorium in Palash, where GR rice and cash grants in lieu of corrugated iron (CI) sheets for house construction were distributed among beneficiaries.
“The responsibility of formulating national policies lies with the elected representatives, while government officials are entrusted with implementing those policies. It is not the job of government officials to determine policy," said Moyeen Khan.
He alleged that during the previous Awami League government, the administration had been politicised and that large sums of money were siphoned abroad, which, he said, could have been used for the country's development and the welfare of its people.
Following the discussion, Moyeen Khan distributed GR rice and cash assistance among more than a hundred poor and underprivileged beneficiaries.
Palash Upazila Nirbahi Officer Istiak Ahmed chaired the programme.
Assistant Commissioner of Palash Upazila Rakin Mashrur Khan, Palash Upazila BNP President Abdus Sattar, General Secretary Saiful Haque, Joint Secretary Bahauddin Bhuiyan Milton, Ghorashal Poura BNP General Secretary Delwar Hossain and Palash Thana Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal Convener Nazmul Hossain Sohel were present.
