Vitamin A plus capsules to be administered at 1,905 centres in DNCC area

DHAKA, June 25, 2026 (BSS) - Over 1,900 centres have been set up in the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) area to implement the National Vitamin A Plus Campaign scheduled to be held across the country on June 28.

The centres include 54 permanent and 1,851 temporary facilities established to carry out the campaign.

A total of 3,810 volunteers, two at each centre, will perform duties during the campaign. 

In addition, 183 first-line supervisors and 103 second-line supervisors will be deployed for field-level monitoring.

The information was disclosed at an orientation workshop organised by the DNCC Health Department at Nagar Bhaban today on the occasion of the National Vitamin A Plus Campaign-2026.


The workshop was informed that all children aged between six and 11 months will be administered one blue Vitamin A capsule, while all children aged one to five years will receive one red Vitamin A capsule during the daylong campaign on June 28.

It was also informed that DNCC will deploy four ambulances to administer Vitamin A capsules to children from underprivileged communities, slum dwellers, and those staying in bus terminals and railway station areas. 

Mobile services will continue to provide Vitamin A capsules on the campaign day and for the following four days.

To facilitate working parents, arrangements have also been made for administering Vitamin A capsules at DNCC's permanent centres from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm on the campaign day and for the subsequent four days.
