DHAKA, June 23, 2026 (BSS) - Members of the law enforcement agencies specially police have arrested 21 suspected criminals through special 
operations from the city's Mirpur area. 

"They were allegedly involved in various crimes under Mirpur Model Police Station area," said a press release issued by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police 
(DMP) media division here today.

It said that Mirpur Model Police Station conducted a special operation in various crime-prone areas on Sunday and nabbed the criminals.

The DMP press release said that police produced them before the court.

The arrested are Mirpur Thana Awami League Vice-President Abul Kalam Azad alias Selim Azad (48), Md Mohan Mia (33), Md Mehedi Hasan (26), Md Nurul 
Haque Farazi (30), Saurav Sardar (21), Rana (26), Md Yunus Islam Ivan (23), Md Nirab (29), Md Arman Sheikh (23), Rafsan Karim (25), Md Russell Mia (26), 
Md Shakib (19), Akifur Rahman (22), Md Shyamal (25), Md Jonayed Al Habib (41), Md Rokon Dali (26), Md Kawser Hossain (23), Md Rajib (23), Mansura 
(20), Taslima Chowdhury and Md Mujibur Rahman (63).

The arrested have been facing arrest warrants and regular cases, the DMP release added.
