According to a notification issued by the Cabinet Division, the committee will be chaired by Justice Md. Rezaul Haque of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court (SC).

The notification stated that the committee has been constituted under section 7 of the ACC Act, 2004, for the purpose of recommending the candidates for the appointment as ACC commissioners.
