RAJSHAHI, June 22, 2026 (BSS)- A cheque distribution meeting among freedom fighters  and discussion on the occasion was held  at the initiative of the Rajshahi Zila Parishad here today. The event was organized  in the conference room of the Rajshahi Zila Parishad. The chief guest at the event was Advocate Ershad Ali Isha, Administrator of Rajshahi Zila Parishad.
 
 The chief gust said the infinite sacrifice, courage, and selflessness of the heroic freedom fighters brought our independence. Showing respect to these greatest children of the nation is not only the state's duty, but also the moral responsibility of every citizen. 

Their contributions must be properly presented to the new generation so that they are inspired by the spirit of the Liberation War, patriotism, humanitarian values, and non-communal ideals to play a role in building a prosperous, developed, and discrimination-free Bangladesh.
 
He further added, the present government has taken various initiatives to ensure the welfare, honor, and dignity of heroic freedom fighters. In continuation of that, the Rajshahi Zila Parishad is also sincerely working for the welfare of freedom fighters, standing by their side. 
 
At the end of the discussion meeting, the guests handed over financial assistance cheques totaling Taka 4.38 lakh to 73 valiant freedom fighters.
