DHAKA, June 21, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Bank Training Academy (BBTA) has launched its first Integrated Foundation Training Course for Assistant Directors to strengthen the professional and personal competencies of newly recruited central bank officers.
The course was inaugurated on June 14 at the A.K.N. Ahmed Auditorium of BBTA, with Bangladesh Bank Deputy Governor Nurun Nahar attending the programme as the chief guest, according to a press release issued today.
Addressing the programme, she stressed that continuous development of knowledge, skills and attitude is essential for becoming a competent and ideal central banker.
She encouraged the new officers to strive for professional excellence by adopting the positive qualities and best practices of their colleagues and peers.
BBTA Executive Director Md. Obaidulya Chowdhury attended the event as the special guest, while BBTA Director and Programme Director of Batch-1 Mohammad Aminur Rahman Chowdhury presided over the ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Obaidulya Chowdhury said that, for the first time, physical training activities and new academic evaluation methods had been incorporated into the foundation course for Assistant Directors.
He noted that the initiatives would help enhance both the professional expertise and physical fitness of the trainees.
The programme began with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by self-introductions of the trainees and BBTA faculty members.
Chief Course Coordinators A.B.M. Anisuzzaman and Sayed Golam Shahzarul Alam briefed participants on the objectives, structure and activities of the training course.
Among others, Batch-2 Programme Director Khandkar Ali Kamran Al Zahid, directors of various BBTA wings, faculty members and bank officials were present at the event.
In his concluding remarks, Mohammad Aminur Rahman Chowdhury thanked the academy's staff for successfully organizing the programme and wished the trainees success in their future careers.
