DHAKA, June 20, 2026 (BSS) - Police, in a special drive, have arrested 17 
people, suspected in various crimes, from Jatrabari area in the capital.

"Police conducted a special operation at various crime prone areas under 
Jatrabari Police Station on Friday and arrested 17 people, who were suspected 
of being involved in crimes," according to a release issued by media and 
public relation division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) here today.

The arrested include accused in regular, warrant cases and suspected 
criminals, involved in various crimes, it added.

"Police sent them before the court," the DMP release continued.

The arrested are- Md Yar Hossain (32), Morsheda Begum (57), Pinky Akhter 
(26), Urmi Akhter (24), Sabuj (22), Md Zakir (26), Md Farhad (28), Md Russell 
(42), Saddam Hossain (30), Md Rabiul Islam Rocky (20), Md Monir Hossain (45), 
Zakir Hossain (26), Md Shakil Hossain (24), Maidul Islam (35), Md 
Moniruzzaman Babu (24), Mohidul Islam (29) and Masud Hawlader (26).
