DHAKA, June 14, 2026 (BSS) - Jatiyatabadi Muktijoddha Dal today staged a human chain protest in the capital against India’s Border Security Force (BSF) attempts to push people inside Bangladesh territory throughout the borders.

BNP Chairman’s adviser Advocate Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal joined as the chief guest the protest rally in front of the National Press Club this afternoon while BNP national executive committee’s secretary for volunteer affairs Mir Sharafat Ali Safu attended as the special guest.

Muktijoddha Dal’s president Ishtiaq Aziz Ulfat chaired the event.

Alal told the event that Bangladesh’s main source of strength in securing the border was its people who stood in thousands to support the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) to prevent such attempts.

“If there are five BGB members on the border, five thousand ordinary Bangladeshi citizens are present there to resist the push-in. On the other hand no Indian citizens are seen alongside the BSF,” he said.

Alal said people from all walks of life in Bangladesh were united to resist these push-ins and “India must stop this immediately".

He said Bangladesh's national interest would be prioritized in maintaining relations with India.

“Relations with India will be maintained prioritizing and keeping paramount the national interest. It will be based on mutual respect. Friendship will come after that,” Alal said.

This principle, he said, applied not alone for India but for all countries in the world.

“Bangladesh's dignity will come first, and only then will diplomacy be conducted,” the BNP leader said.
