DHAKA, June 14, 2026 (BSS)- The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has 
issued a gazette notification approving the establishment of a government 
medical college in Narsingdi district.

The information was disclosed in a notification signed by Secretary of the 
Health Education and Family Welfare Division Kamruzzaman Chowdhury today.

Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md. Sakhawat Hossain, who took the 
initiative to establish a government medical college in his home district, is 
an elected Member of Parliament (MP) from Narsingdi-4 (Monohardi-Belabo) 
constituency and was sworn in the minister position on February 17 this year.
